Preschoolers will use all their senses to enhance their knowledge at Mountaintop Learning. We strive to follow the Guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Whether it is during small circle time, table work, or in one of our learning stations, your child will learn through repetition, exploration, and cooperation with others.

While at preschool, your child will practice name recognition, handwriting, fine motor skills, calendaring, counting, dramatic role play, art skills, play with musical instruments, and so much more! Teacher to student ratio is kept low to ensure personal attention and foster to different learning styles.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Q- Does my chid need to be potty trained?

A- Yes! Your child must be fully potty trained to come to preschool. This also includes not wearing pull ups. I do not help them wipe, and I expect the kids to be able to put their clothes back on themselves. I understand that accidents happen with 3 year olds! I ask that each child has a backup outfit stored at preschool just in case, but it shouldn't be something the kids are needing every week.

Q-My child turns 3 after September 1st, can they still sign up for preschool?

A-No. The public schools in Utah have a hard cut off date of September 1st that children must be 5 in order to enter Kindergarten. To make the transition as easy as possible, I have the same policy. Those fall/winter birthdays are tough! I know! Use this period to go to story time at the library, enroll in mommy and me classes, read together! We love having more mature children in the classroom. They are terrific!

Q-Can I come and see the classroom before registering my child

A-Absolutely!I am happy to set up appointments later in the afternoon, evening or weekends to be able to devote my entire attention on you and your family. Please reach out to schedule a time. I don't allow visits while we're in the middle of class for the comfort of the current preschoolers and to minimize distractions.

    Q- How do I register?

A-Registration will open on January 22nd. Go to the "registration" section of the website, select which class you would like, fill out your information, pay the $65 registration fee and I will either text or email you confirmation and send you a registration packet. Super Easy!

  • What Parent's Are Saying:

"We have been so happy with Mountaintop Learning Preschool! Miss Julie is wonderful! She has a pleasant, calm personality that serves her classroom well. My child is excited to go to preschool and she always comes home happy. I have been so impressed with the activities the children are involved in. She covers science, math, writing, reading, art, and music. The activities are age-appropriate, hands-on, and engaging. My child loves singing the songs from class. Miss Julie keeps a constant communication with parents. She posts pictures and writes about the day after every class period. It has been so nice as a parent to be able to see what happened at school everyday in such detail. I would highly recommend this preschool to anyone!"

"I've been so, so pleased. [My kids] preschool experience has greatly exceeded my expectations. Love that you care about my boys and are helping them to learn what mom is too busy to teach! Love Miss Julie!"

"Julie is such a great teacher!! My daughter absolutely loved going to preschool at Miss Julie's! Julie is very organized, on the ball and connects with each child on an individual basis! I highly recommend her as a teacher!!"

    About Me

Teaching young children is one of my passions! Whether it is in a classroom sharing my love of books, in my front room teaching songs, or in the pool teaching swim lessons, I thrive on watching kids learn new skills and seeing their excitement when they succeed. I graduated from Brigham Young University. My favorite class I took was an internship in the BYU preschool. There, I learned how to implement NAEYC standards into my curriculum, teach using age-appropriate methods, and creatively engage with children in a group and one on one basis. I taught toddler music and movement classes at the Dancing Moose Montessori School. I have over 16 years of experience teaching preschool aged children in various disciplines.

I have 4 children of my own. Some of my hobbies include: triathlons, reading, cooking, creating crafty things, hiking, and traveling. I have lived in 3 different states in the time that I have been married, and especially look forward to date nights with my husband.
